If you like Boo Walker books, what else should you read?

I reached out to the readers of my newsletter and asked for their favorite books of recent years. Below are the ones that came up time and time again. Reader beware: If you go any further, you’ll get pulled into a book-shopping spree of dangerous proportions. Have you read any of these? What are we missing? Please feel free to add your faves in the comments below.

If you’re interested in more book recommendations, here is a list of my personal favorites.

  1. Thank you, Boo! I’ve read about half of this list and I am eager to start the other half. I was glad to see The Nightingale on the list. It was an excellent read for me. I appreciate how you stay in touch with your fans – encouraging us with your own writing and showing us how to enjoy reading. We love us some Boo Walker!!

  2. Thanks for sharing. Love the list and have read only some of these. I appreciate your recommendations.

  3. I have read many of these books and I have to say the series Still Life by Louise Penny is my favorite. You become friends with the characters. I am going to go a reading spree with all these suggestions.

  4. Hi Boo!
Love your book list and I have read many of them! All of Susan Wigg’s books are delightful as are Sarah Addison Allen. I also enjoy MJ Rose and her historic fiction. Can’t wait for the new book. Happy reading and writing!

  5. Hi Boo!

Oh my goodness I have read at least 25 of those above pictured, am currently 2, and have at least 10 more on my current TBR. I am so thrilled to see Barbara Davis and Ruta Sepetys on the list, and encourage all to read I Must Betray You by Ruta. Now, just to figure which one to read next!

  6. I’ve read most of the books listed and enjoyed them all. Right now I’m into Faye Kellermann’s writing and am reading her Peter Decker/Rina Lazurus mysteries in order. They’re wonderful. However, she wrote a historical thriller called “The Quality of Mercy”. I highly recommend it and Boo, I think you’ll like it too.

  7. I have read 10 of these books and I know that several girls in our book club have read even more of them. I will keep these books in mind when it is my turn to pick a book in our book club although I have the tendency to lean to the latest Boo Walker book!

  8. I love seeing all of the covers of the books, but do you possibly have just a list form? Just finished Spanish Sunrise and LOVED it.

  9. Great list of books. I’ve read twelve of them and agree there are some great books there to be read. Of course I am a total fan of all your books and have read them all! Keep up the great writing as I’m looking forward to many more, make that MANY MORE Boo Walker books. You are the best.

  10. Boo, we’ve been friends for a long time but if you ever say anything bad about Jamie Fraser again, that long friendship is over! 😅😂
Just teasing of course. Jamie has yet to send me such an excellent group of books to be read. I’ve read a lot of these but certainly not all and I can hardly wait to dive in. Where to start, where to start???

  11. I have read a few of the titles on this list. Maybe I missed something, but I just don’t get why “When We Believed In Mermaids” is so popular. One recent book that I really enjoyed was “What the Wind Knows” by Amy Harmon. I think I also saw it mentioned on one of your Facebook posts by other readers.

  12. Thank you Boo. I would like to recommend The Keeper Series by Charles Martin. It has touched my heart and soul.

  13. Boo, I think we all at one time or another are always searching for something new to read. Thank you for the list, I look forward to reading the ones on your list that I haven’t yet read. Leila Meacham’s book “Dragonfly” is still one of my all time favorites and is a must read for sure!

  14. Hello Boo! This list is exactly what I’ve been needing! The best book recommendations ever from like-minded readers. Many new books to read and new authors to explore.
A retired grandmother’s dream list. Thank you ever so much!

  15. Many of these are my favorites. I would also suggest Amy Harmon’s From Sand and Ash, and really all of her books!

  16. Hi Boo, I have read many of these books as well. Obviously your devoted fans have the same taste in books as I do. Thanks for compiling this list.

  17. Thank you, Boo! I’ve read many of these books, so I can feel confident I’ll love any of these on your list. I’m so glad we all have you to enrich our reading experience!

  18. What a fabulous list! I am already sorting and sharing. Thank you for putting together this TBR list and also for your wonderful books which are on a list of their own.

  19. Hi Boo
    I really enjoy your posts!
This book list is fabulous…..I have read 17 of these and will definitely add more of these to my book list!
My college roommate at Wheaton lived in Cape Elizabeth for many years.
    Thanks for compiling this list!

  20. Hey Boo,
I want to thank you for all the chuckles as I read your news letters and blogs. I fell in love with your story telling starting with “Red Mountain”, there are few authors that I decide to read all their books, Kristen Hannah, Fredrik Backman and now you. “The Singing Trees’ so far is a favorite as I grew up in NorthGorham (first house on the Persumscot River)
As I look at your list of suggested reading I am happy to see many I have already read (” Go West With Giraffes” a particular favorite!) and look forward to some new reads.
Thanks again for the chuckles and the new reading suggestions.
